Iron wire, as one of the popular metal products, is widely used in many fields. According to the producing process, it can be divided into black annealed wire and galvanized iron wire. Black annealed wire, also called binding wire or annealing wire. Galvanized wire is known as GI wire. To have a better understanding of these two wire products, there are listed some of the similarities and differences between them.
The similarities between black annealed and galvanized wire are the material, features and application. As the popular iron wire products, they are made of low carbon steel wire. With the advantages of good elasticity and flexibility, the annealed wire and GI wire are widely used in construction, handicrafts, the wire mesh manufacturing, highway fence, product packaging, daily use and other fields.
The main difference betweenannealed and galvanized wire is the production process. After pickling, pultrusion molding, high-temperature annealing process the annealed wire is finished. GI wire’s making process is more complicated. To produce the GI wire, hot-dip galvanized and cooling are necessary. Therefore, the black annealed wire is softer than GI wire, and the galvanized wire has stronger corrosion resistance.
